This French-speaking city lies in the southern region of Lake Geneva and embedded between the hilly terrain of the Jura and the nearby Alpine peaks. The old town lies over the left-hand shore, is the heart of Geneva because of the shopping and business quarters. Another prominent landmark of the Old town is St. Peter’s Cathedral. Place du Bourg-de-Four, which is the oldest square in the city is also located in the Old Town.
